I was eating the complimentary breakfast at a hotel before checkout (east coast USA) at around 6am the other day. The TVs were on BLASTING the Royal wedding – a creepy priest going on about Jesus, some Chaucer quotes- scary chanting – I thought- I can’t eat while listening to this … There was a side annex to the main room. No one was in there and there was one TV. It was within reach so I crept up to it and hit the channel down button for anything… static… one more press… MARRIED WITH CHILDREN !!! It was an episode I don’t remember ever seeing, where Bud was directing a music video with Kelly and some Euro-dude wanker. I chowed down while catching the tail end, and all I could think was how I personally re-defeated the British Army symbolically while also scoring a victory for men worldwide with some good old American sitcom firepower - a bit of a reach I know, but it was early and I was tired!
