If you don’t like Walmart . . .

Don’t shop there

Common retort: ” It’s the only place I can get _________”

Answer: “Wherever you bought ________ before… go there “

The truth: You MFs want the most useful items for the cheapest price #cheapskates !!!!!

The remedy: Examine your buying habits – are you a domesticated dimwit who feels societal pressure to buy crap that serves no purpose ? Try therapy. Is your spouse pressuring you to make unnecessary buying choices ? Well . . ( ‘nother whole topic )

Disclosure: The only thing I’ve ever bought at Walmart was a reversible hooded sweatshirt way back in 2000. It lasted pretty good- like 5 years. I love supporting “Mom & Pop” stores, and I buy at the biggies sometimes ( Best Buy, Walgreens, etc…) – what more can I say?

Generic ending maxim: Put your money where your mouth is ( or NOT )

I’m amazed sometimes how people find this blog through their search queries. I stay up all day and night editing Pro Tools but I read the papers and listen to the news in between, so when I type a post on here you never know what I may cover. An Aussie associate of mine posted some links related to the Queensland flooding recently. Whenever there is an environmental tragedy like this, the amount of scam fund-raising increases as well, so I’m using this post to link to the government sponsored donation page:

I’ve been following a righteous Brooklyn organization called Global Soles for awhile now. Their mission has been to provide donated footwear- a basic life necessity in the modern world- to Haitian children in need. They’ve been doing that excellently, and in the aftermath of the severe conditions created by the earthquake they’ve expanded the mission accordingly. I’ll simply relay this following message from Rotimi Akinnuoye of Global Soles:

I can promise you that these (below) organizations will do the right thing. Yele is run by Wyclef, I’ve personally spoken to him about his work and he is sincere. Amhe is an organization of Haitian physicians that I’ve traveled with and worked with for about 8 years now. Global Soles is Global Soles. Continue to pray and work. I see this as a great opportunity for Haiti. I think Haiti will finally get the attention and help it deserves. The future of Haiti is bright. I’m optimistic that great things will come out of this. Washington Heights Free Radio (WHFR) DJ & personality Amanda Nazario has a plan to create a mobile Internet broadcasting venture. It would be a van outfitted with webcasting capabilities, which she would pilot around the country streaming music, profiles, interviews, and other audio treats. A Kickstarter.com profile has been created to spark funding for the idea, which she’ll be the first to admit sounds wildly impractical, however, the dough is starting to grow so if you like the sound of that put your money where your ears are and possibly get this show on the road.

What’s small, plastic, adorned with a Visa logo, matches your Phat Farm sweat suit perfectly and goes great with anything Def Jam? Rushcard; a pre-paid credit card co-branded with Russell Simmons heavily marketed to folks with no bank account and/or no credit who still want to whip out the plastic. In the same way that toxic sludge is good for you, Mr. Simmons expertly positions himself as a philanthropist champion of the underprivileged and his Rushcard as helping struggling Americans who find themselves without access to bank accounts or credit. Just so you know, credit cards with secured lines have been available from any old bank for ages. I was reading about this on the NPR website, and commenter Jim Harrold left this excellent Macbeth quote as part of his post (allow me to share):
