Let The Gameday Audio Begin
I dig listening to Baseball on the radio. I am after all, an audio guy- very busy producing, recording, snacking, etc… so I drop 15 bucks on MLB’s Gameday Audio which allows you to listen to every single major league baseball game online for the entire season directly via that locale’s live radio stream. You can even pick the home or away station & switch back and forth, jockeying different games & stations. When I’m mixing and editing I often keep a game going on a channel, and pop the fader up every now and then to check the scores- listening to the man Vin Scully (for the 1st 3 innings at least) do play by play for the Dodgers as I type this from New York, where the Mets won their first, Yanks are getting spanked by B-more, tomorrow I’ll be rolling out to one of the clandestine Red Sox bars in Manhattan to see Boston’s postponed opener vs. last year’s pesky (Devil) Rays. All work and no play- well, you know the rest!

It’s very interesting- the varying quality and characteritics of each station’s stream. Some stations are louder or more clear than others, some run their normal local commercials between innings- some completely kill the audio between innings (lame), some let just the crowd noise play between innings ad-free (my favorite). Perhaps some time I’ll rate them for you.

It would be funny if something came unplugged and all you got was crowd noise in the stands for 9 innings. Well…not that funny…
