Talk Radio stalwart Tom Leykis will broadcast the final segment on 97.1 FM KLSX today from 3-5pm Pacific time before the station abruptly switches formats to an all Top 40 Teenie Bopper. Leykis began his radio career in the 70s from humble beginnings grinding away at fuzzy AM stations from Albany to Miami, Phoenix to Seattle and finally landing in Los Angeles in 1997 as talk began it’s migration to FM and on-air chat about boobs, banging and effing started to heat up. The Tom Leykis show ran strong from then until now, covering topics from “Is your mom a slut?” to “How to manage your finances responsibly” back to “Dumping your nagging girlfriend” then over to politics, sports, trashing the east coast or whatever listeners showed the most interest in at the time. His open-phone Fridays contained some very unpredictable, engaging talk content for terrestrial radio, infuriating and educating, NPR-style intellectual curiosity expertly meshed with dumb & full of cum, in-your-face rudeness poured into your ear from a crystal FM Bordeaux glass all done in a style ode to past talk radio greats.

So if you see a lot of automobile headlights on in SoCal today- it’s a shout out to Tom, and perhaps to an era of live radio broadcasting which is slowly fading like a staticky fleeting station on a long drive home.
