This coming weekend will see both the Consumer Electronics Show and the Adult Entertainment Expo concurrently happen in Las Vegas, NV.

The 2009 CES runs from Jan. 8th through the 11th at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and will feature approximately 2,700 companies showcasing the latest, greatest, newest, wireless, digital, whatever technologies for gadget freaks and the retailers who love them.

The 2009 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo also goes from the 8th ’til the 11th at The Sands Expo Center in Vegas, and is expected to attract as much attention (& Vegas economic stimulation) as the electronics show. Rap artist Flo Rida has been tapped to open the expo which features the celebrated AVN Awards ceremony on Saturday hosted by Jenna Haze and Belladonna, who will hand out awards for categories such as “Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene”, “Best Big Butt Release” and much more based on porn video releases from the past year.

Just where these two behemoth trade shows intersect and synergize is up to your imagination. The numbers show no slowing down for the adult entertainment industry as a whole, whence consumer electronics spending is expected to sag in 2009- “the economy” being only partly guilty for the slowdown. Americans have been steadily splurging on consumer electronic gadgets for the past few years, and the gadgets themselves have ramped up to a point where improvements upon them can only be lateral until teleportation becomes possible. In other words: How much better can you get than the Blackberry Storm and the iPhone? It’s all about what you use them for…
